Position Overview

The Parts and Service Advisor will act as a liaison between mining customers and the Fort McKay Branch for all parts and service activities. The position will support both the parts and service departments by engaging customers and participating in short and long term planning activities that will require a Wajax response. The Parts and Service Advisor will establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and manufacturers to help resolve technical, planning, service, parts and logistics concerns and generate customer solutions as a value added supplier.

Duties

- Works closely with both the parts and service departments at other Wajax branches to ensure effective communication and  collective problem resolution

-Coordinate the parts distribution function by monitoring activities relating to the procurement and expediting of all parts and accessories in a timely manner

-Conveys a personable, professional and knowledgeable approach in a “hands-on” manner when working with customers

-Assists other organizational functions such as engineering, manufacturing or quality control when determining end user and/or design problems

-Makes recommendations and provides reports regarding activities that may improve parts and service delivery to customers

-Communicates with shop operations and office personnel to ensure an efficient and profitable operation within the corresponding area of responsibility

-Liaises with internal and external resources to gather information when providing  customer solutions

-Provides technical understanding and expertise of product mechanisms and applications to customers, sales professionals, management and other organizational functions

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will preferably have certification as a Parts or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician. Significant experience in a heavy equipment environment and familiarity with large mining equipment is a primary requirement of the role. Supervisory experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset. The candidate should have strong technical expertise with 2 - 3 years of experience in solving technical problems in discussion with customers. Must have a general working knowledge of computer software and systems and remain knowledgeable on cutting edge technology and best practices on Wajax products and services.
