Wajax Industries is currently recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Technician. This position is responsible for performing maintenance, repair and rebuilding construction equipment mostly within the field. All field work will generally occur on Hitachi equipment with potential to work on various construction products. All work will be completed in a safe, efficient and capable manner.

The Heavy Equipment Technician must be able to diagnose faults or malfunctions and adjust, repair, or replace all defective construction equipment parts, components or systems serviced at client locations. This requires strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer specifications and warranty environments. In order to ensure that the work done satisfies manufacturer’s specifications, the Heavy Equipment Technician must also test the repaired equipment for proper performance. Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other technicians and apprentices within the field environment.

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification is required. Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently troubleshoot and repair issues in electronic, mechanical, electro/hydraulic systems common to construction equipment products. Heavy Equipment Technicians with experience working on similar excavator equipment are considered an asset. Experience with manufacturer specific equipment diagnostic systems i.e. Laptop or onboard is essential.
