Wajax Industries is currently recruiting for a Materials Handling Technician. This position is primarily responsible for performing maintenance, repair and rebuilding electric forklifts. This position is located within the service department and will perform all work duties in a safe, efficient and capable manner.

The Materials Handling Technician must inspect, diagnose and repair/replace all components of the electric forklifts serviced within the Langley Branch. This requires strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer specifications and warranty environments. The Materials Handling Technician must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other technicians and apprentices within the shop environment.

The ideal candidate enjoys completing automobile or equipment repairs with a logical and systematic approach. Those with strong diagnostic skills and use these skills in everday work tasks are strongly encouraged to apply!

Journeyman Heavy Equipment or Automotive Certification is required. Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently troubleshoot and repair issues in electronic, mechanical, electro/hydraulic systems common to materials handling or automotive products. Experience with manufacturer specific equipment diagnostic systems i.e. Laptop or onboard is essential. As part of the Wajax selection process, the candidate must undergo a background check which includes reference checks, criminal record check and alcohol/drug/pre-employment medical testing.
